Received a collection notice because I didn't renew my snowmobile policy with Nationwide. I moved my policy to a different agent, and was told that because I didn't submit a cancellation in writing that I owed. I called the agency, and cancelled it over the phone, but apparently that's not acceptable to Nationwide.
Well if I could give them a 0 star I would! My family has been with Nationwide for over 40 years and we had the most AMAZING Agent in Dan Dallmann; however, he retired. For some reason my mother was assigned to the Getzoni Agency and we've had nothing but issues since. She was contacted for a review of her policy and questioned if anyone else drove her car. Yes several people did including her grandson who is 19, to take her places as she cannot get in/out of other vehicles. All of a sudden the premium skyrockets because now her grandson is an insured driver on her vehicle despite the fact that he is insured by Nationwide on another policy! I call to rectify the situation and am told by the agent that it's easier to add a driver than it is to remove one. I now need to prove that he is insured under another policy....really....he's with Nationwide...and I'm appalled that my mother was manipulated into being upsold! OK so that takes weeks to be resolved and I finally need to go to the corporate website to change it and the parent of the teenager/grandson had to call both Getzoni Agency and her agency to verify that he's in Nationwide's system as being fully insured. No surprise there. Then my moves to South Carolina to live with me...she surrenders her license....sells her vehicle...I surrender the plates to NYS and receiver the documentation....I email the plate surrender documentation to the agent and tell them to cancel the policy as we've sold the vehicle and the response is...you're all set what's the mailing address in case there is a refund due. Perfect...Thank you I appreciate your assistance in this matter......BUT THEN I GET A BILL WITH A NEW POLICY WRITTEN IN SOUTH CAROLINA!!! Really what is going on!!!! At this point I am done dealing with this agency. I called the Corporate office and they were able to review, explain what transpired and rectify everything including the refund that is owing as they continued autopay after I asked for it to be discontinued. ..I didn't choose this agency and I have no idea how my mother was assigned to them...the only blessing is that because of her move to SC she cancelled her renters policy and then after selling her vehicle cancelled her auto policy and now I no longer have to deal with them!!!!!
