Was in on 9-30-17 to get a hot water Kohler stem for a bathroom, the guy at the plumbing desk was so incredibly helpful. He pointed me into the direction of an ez out and other items I would need to fix a problem I thought I was going to have to tear a wall out for and change the entire valve. Thanks for his expertise and guidance he saved me so much time and effort. Needless to say it all worked out and no more drip. Even though I live in the Tonawanda, this will be my go to store instead of big box stores. The customer service worthy of 5 stars
We started to experience other water issues and had called somebody else to come out and take a look. The pipe that Ed Young's had not been leaking, but was definitely crooked. I thought that it looked kind of crooked, but figured that I'm not a plumber, what do I know? When the next repair man came out he told us what a crummy job had been done, and he ended up having to fix it. Our new repair man did it much more quality work, at a much lower rate. My husband called to speak to Ed Young's and tell them what had happened, the crooked pipe, the black mold, etc. they apologized and offered to come out and fix the problem, but it had already been fixed. No refund was offered. While they were very polite and very friendly, that did not ensure quality work. Charging near $300 to replace an approximately 18 inch piece of pipe, I would've expected impeccable work. We will not be using at Young's again.
Jeff was the plumber who came to my house to clear out the drain sewer, He was very confident and knowledgeable. I will definitely use Ed Young plumbing services for future work!
We were experiencing a leak underneath our kitchen sink and called Ed Young's. They were very friendly and very prompt about sending a plumber out. When the plumber arrived at our house he was very kind and very polite. He diagnosed the problem, and gave us an estimate of between $150 and $300 to fix the problem. One of the pipes under the sink had rotted, so the plumber replaced the rotted out piece of pipe with a piece of PVC pipe. That repair cost $272. He told us that due to water dripping behind the piece of drywall that was in front of the leaky pipe, we may want to run a space heater and air out the area under the sink. I did exactly as he suggested.
Been going here pretty much all my life.... many decades! They have odd things you'd have trouble finding elsewhere, a huge variety of hardware items, household and backyard necessities, wonderful gifts and the kind of personal service you'll NEVER get at the big box stores. Not only great service, but extremely helpful, knowledgeable and sanity-saving advice for any DIY project you're working on. So VERY glad they are right around the corner from me. Take my advice and check this place out sometime!
Over the next week or so it started to smell terrible under the kitchen sink. I called them back because I feared that mold might be growing behind a piece of drywall. Not only did they say it wasn't their responsibility to come out, but that they couldn't recommend anybody to come out to look at/remove the drywall. We had to have somebody else come out to remove the drywall, which in fact did have black mold growing like crazy on and behind it. Being 6 1/2 months pregnant and having a child with severe asthma, that could have become a very dangerous situation for us.
This is the best hardware store I have ever dealt with. I have gone there for years and I am always amazed what I find there. Excellent paint and plumbing departments. You can get your plumbing parts and a gift all in one stop because they also have a nice gift shop.
