Not a good experience. Went in for a same-day new-patient appointment due to sudden tooth pain. In addition to the X-ray fee and dentist's fee they charged me $50 for "palliative pain management" which literally was the two seconds they rubbed "hurricane gel" on my gums. No novacaine, no prescriptions, no repeat applications. They removed a loose crown without even requiring tools. It was a quick appointment. I scheduled a follow up for tomorrow for an extraction before I realized what they were charging me for "pain management" so we called back to see if they could remove such an exhorbitant fee for such minimal treatment and they refused. Needless to say, we're not going back.
Needless to say, I paid the balance and left the practice, as I never experienced with past staff members who always worked with me (Helena was great). Could not be happier with our new dentist, just cannot believe Amherst Dental would allow losing my family as patients for $150- which was paid by the time frame.
I have been a patient at Amherst Dental almost 20 years and I was always happy with the service until recent. I have 4 children and my wife who also went there, faithfully every six months.
My husband and I have been pleased with the many years of consistent, high quality care for a variety of dental problems. Initially, I was anxious about seeing another dentist because of previous bad experiences, but with Dr. Pozarny's gentle approach, patience and competent skill, I am no longer fearful. Dr's. Shainbrown and Tytka are also excellent. The assistants, hygienists and office staff have always been friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to recommend them.
Everyone is extremely friendly, courteous and most of all professional.
You can imagine my displeasure, as I NEVER was late on paying back bills in the last 20yrs- for all 6 family members. I tried to discuss this then I just got heated, as the office was fighting over a 20 yr relationship for $150 that carried over to 2 extra weeks. Amazing this day an age that this could happen, especially when I was the one who initiated the call to pay them back.
Member since 1973.
Always on time.
Easy to make appointments.
Very Disappointed...
Where it went off the rails is when both my wife and my older daughter had to get TMJ appliances. The total was close to $1000, which I hear is a little high to start. The day I received the bill, I was pro-active and called the office that I would get payments out asap for the next 3 months. I received a call from the staff stating this was not acceptable and the balance needed to be cleared up much sooner.
Rare to wait in the waiting room.
Its a excellent place to have all your dental needs taken care of. All procedures have been quick and done with little pain. They also have 24 hour emergency care if you need it. ~What more could you ask for from a dentist?
